Welcome to Unpretending’s About Page

Thank you for coming to our Substack

Who we are:

We are a Traumagenic System from Australia.

Unpretending Spontaneous is our System name. We are multiple people living in one body, our body/brain has DID, Multiple Identities which resulted from early childhood trauma.

Our System began this Substack to help us step into the world with our writing, our voice and our journey with bravery, while encouraging others to do the same.

On our Substack you may meet the many of us as we become brave to share our voice and words.

Come join our unique journey as we heal from our past, sometimes fail hilariously and most importantly attempt to learn how to work together as a System.

Ask us questions on our Substack or through our email unpretendingspontaneous@gmail.com

We’d like to get to know our readers and why you enjoy coming to Unpretending’s Substack.

Here are just a few of us:

Each has made an image of themselves through Bitmoji.com

The Body’s Name -

The Body’s Name is the one that looks mostly like our body does now. She is a middle-aged woman who often blends with Unpretending. She is learning that holding the body’s name does not make her responsible for the system, she is learning self-worth and confidence.

Unpretending -

A gregarious gal in her 20’s whose optimism for life shines through to everyone she meets.

Mojo -

A self-professed Chef, Mojo is outspoken, intense and can cook up a storm - literally. He has developed a “fake” accent of sorts and believe he arrived in the System from the imaginative escapism used when the body was a child and pretending to be on a cooking show.

Max -

Max is a Protector in our System. He is tall, strong bodied and originated during the 1984 Russian Olympics therefore considers himself Russian. He loves to drive the car, hang out with other dudes and enjoys a good hamburger. Max’s current role is protecting the Littles.

Spencer -

Spencer is currently our most active Little/Middle. They slide in age (or age range) from about eight to twelve years old. Spencer has been in charge of many adult type responsibilities our whole life and has felt safe to come Front since we as a System made Christmas time free from people who caused us childhood trauma.

Someone Else or South East or SE. -

Someone Else is a Protector in our System who is generally not emotive. They are pragmatic, blunt and very helpful in balancing our System. SE. will front when the girls are feeling overwhelmed or when the System needs protecting due to miscommunication.

Jo -

Jo is one of our teens, who is coming to terms with being outside of her “time”. She paces, taps her foot or hand a lot and has lots of anxiety which often comes across as frustration or anger.

Georgina or Sensible -

Georgina is our businessperson, she is the one who communicates inside to reassure others. She is calm, considerate and often turns up for appointments, meetings and such. Her voice is one that many of us insiders seek out for guidance.

There are several others who have asked not to be included here, check back another time as this page will evolve as we learn more about each other in our System and grow together as a team.

This is the journey of one Aussie body living with Multiple People inside, as we heal from childhood trauma and show the world DID doesn’t have to just be a disorder, it can become our Superpower.

People

I’d always been set apart as different and thought I was faulty. Until I learned I am WE with DID. This is our unique journey as we learn to be "REAL" as a multiple. We are - Unpretending Spontaneous.
